WPT’S Presence Expands to India

This coming September, India television viewers will be introduced to the WPT.

As the world’s love of poker grows, so does the World Poker Tour’s presence.  World Poker Tour Enterprises has signed a contract with ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Limited.  ZEE Sports, India’s first private sports channel will air nineteen two hour WPT Season IV episodes in India.  ZEE Network will air the episodes alongside their current sports lineup and will be massively promoting the WPT on television as well as through www.zeesports.co.in.  Though the coverage of the poker tour will be from three years ago, there is no doubt that Indian poker lovers abound will still be delighted in the viewing one of their favorite genre.

According to WPT Founder, President and CEO, Steve Lipscomb of the partnership, “We are delighted to be making history together.”

This groundbreaking development comes right off the heels of the WPTE reaching an agreement with Fox Sports Net to air Season VII of the series which will consist of twenty-six one hour shows.
