Kelly Kim To Compete in WSOP 2008

Congratulations to fellow Southern Californian Kelly Kim of Whittier, who will be competing in the World Series of Poker, 2008 as part of the “November Nine” in November.  6,844 poker players competed for the chance to be one of the coveted nine players for the chance at the elusive title of the next WSOP poker champ.

This year’s televised 2008 WSOP in November will undoubtedly create television’s nine newest stars; especially with all the hype and media attention that will be given to the main event.

Kelly Kim began playing poker in 1995 and then went on to play tournament poker in 2003.  Clearly he is an experienced player as he has played in the main event of the WSOP for the past five years.  Kim’s cashes in his career includes the WSOP, WPT, LA Poker Classic tournaments with $315,491.

As the obvious underdog, Kim will enter the final event in the last seat with 2,620,000 in chips.  Kim is definitely going in with an optimistic attitude. “I feel like I have as good a chance as any of the othersWe’re all a little greedy, so of course I want to win.” The winner will walk away with $9.1 million dollars but regardless of what position he comes out in during the series, Kelly Kim will still walk away with a lot of money – $900K!
