First WSOP Bracelet Winner of 2008 is Nenad Medic

Nenad Medic Has Won The First Event At The 2008 WSOP.

Winning $794,112, Nenad Medic outplayed Mike Sexton , Patrik Antonius as well as Phil Laak to become the top finisher and first recipient of the 2008 WSOP bracelet.

The final table had Medic playing against all the top poker professionals. In this $10K Pot-Limit Hold Em event, Medic had to strategize with certainty during his hand plays.

Second place winner was poker pro and former MIT blackjack team member Andrew Bloch taking home $488,048.

The only woman at the final table was Kathy Liebert who placed third in this event with $306,064. Top female poker tournament player Liebert toughed it out and came out of a short stack position to gain the number three position in this first event.

Other tournaments will be played throughout this weekend with Event #2 to begin on Saturday. Coming in with the chip lead in this No-Limit Hold Em tournament will be David Bach with Henry Tran following close behind him.
