Catch the excitement of the 2008 World Series of Poker!

Beginning at 12p.m. today in Las Vegas is the 39th Annual World Series of Poker (WSOP). Poker players from all around the globe will gather at the Rio Hotel and Casino to compete for not only tons of cash but the WSOP bracelet as well. The first event of the series will be a World Championship $10K Pot Limit Hold Em event.

This prestigious poker tournament will last for 47 days and feature 55 bracelet events. The bracelet events will also include eight $10K World Championships, eight $5K championships and twenty $1,500 championships. A $50K H.O.R.S.E. event will be featured again this year with an extra bonus; a trophy in honor of the late poker legend Chip Reese to be awarded.

The 2007 WSOP Title along with $8.25 Million in cash went to Jerry Yang! The father of six began playing poker in 2005. He entered the World Series of Poker after winning a $225 satellite at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California.

The series will be played until July 14th, 2008 with the final table of the 2008 WSOP resuming November 9th. The 9 remaining players on July 14th will be known as the “November Nine”. Why the delay of the Main Event you ask? Please read:
