Celebrities Turn Out to Support Charity Poker Tournament

Emmy and Golden Globe winner Camryn Manheim recently hosted a special poker tournament at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, California. The tournament was held by the Children’s Institute, Inc and was the First Annual Celebrity Poker Tournament for the organization.

The special tournament was created to benefit the Children’s Institute which helps children who have been affected by violence in their homes or communities. The event was emceed by World Series of Poker champion Jamie Gold.

Over twenty celebrities came out to show their support during the tournament. Those included were: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jamie Kennedy, Kevin Nealon, Mekhi Phifer, Joely Fisher, Allison Sweeney, Cheri Oteri, Mimi Rogers, Nicholas Gonzalez and Jennie Garth.

Cheryl Hines of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Ricki Lake, Kevin Rahm and Tuc Watkins made it to the final table and it was Tuc Watkins of Desperate Housewives who managed to win the tournament.

The Children’s Institute will use the money raised to continue to help at-risk children and their families in the Los Angeles area. The organization provides healing and support so the children can recover and lead healthy lives.
